Order Sapindales, Family Anacardiaceae, Genus Rhus
This plant grows on 359 down near Gross Reservoir, and along Lower Magnolia. It is in the same family as Poison Ivy, but is not toxic. Its berries are tart, and can be munched or added to water to impart a sour flavor. Once called Rhus trilobata, it is common throughout the Southwest.
