As of January 2018 APG IV places Family Apiaceae in Order Apiales. This family includes dill, celery, fennel, cumin, as well as Socrates' toxic beverage, which was possibly Conium maculatum. Those that grow up here are mostly plants of damp areas, with the exception of Parsley, which loves dry slopes. The flowers/inflorescences of this family may look similar, but their foliage is distinctive. Please be able to identify Cicuta douglasii, as it is extremely toxic.
