Symphyotrichum campestre has recently been reclassified from Aster, where it was named Aster campestre.At this time, there is only one very high altitude Aster, Aster alpinus, in North America, all the others being Eurasian plants.
Here is a particularly dense and colorful clump of Symphyotrichum campestre on Magnolia Road, where Magnolia goes past Stilson's Ranch.
