Order Lamiales, Family Plantaginaceae, Genus Penstemon
This penstemon has a wand-like aspect, with the flowers growing on one side of the stem. These are our tallest Penstemons, frequently growing together in theatrical display, like drama queens.
The staminode and anther sacs have no hair. They are glabrous.
