A member of the Rose family, or Rosaceae, this plant has tiny apple-like fruits. It was an important plant to Native Americans and to colonists, who utilized it in food, medicine, and tools. Today, in the Land of Whole Foods, animals are the prime enjoyers.
This gorgeous plant is on the North side of Magnolia, opposite Kellog's Meadow.
