Order Rosales, Family Rosaceae, Genus Drymocallis

This is our biggest and showiest Cinquefoil. It isn't even supposed to be in our area, but here it is! The CU Herbarium now has a pressed specimen. It likes full sun. Wikipedia and Southwest Colorado Wildflowers have additional information.

 

It blends in easily with tall grasses and other meadow flowers.
