Denver Water is completing the relicensing of the FERC hydroelectric permit at Gross Reservoir. Specific resource issues related to the relicensing project have been addressed in the appropriate sections of this report, especially Section 7, Recreation. The resource inventories conducted as a part of the relicensing process have provided an important contribution to the understanding of the landscape and its use in southwestern Boulder County. Denver Water's proposed management (THK Associates, Inc. 1997) of that portion of the FERC permit boundary within the Planning Area is generally consistent with the desired future conditions that PUMA proposes for this area. PUMA will therefore need to concentrate its efforts with Denver Water on the successful implementation and monitoring of the management proposals contained within the FERC permit application.
