Order Fabales, Family Fabaceae (Pea Family), Genus Thermopsis
Golden Banner is common alo roads, and also grows in full to partial sun in woods and meadows. This variety has seed pods which are spreading and slightly curved. From USDA: "Mountain goldenbanner is known to be toxic. It contains alkaloids which are especially toxic in young plants and in mature flowering plants (Burrows and Tyrl 2001). All parts of the plant are toxic." I am following Ackerfield, "Flora of Colorado," for the identity of this plant.

Pods are ascending and a bit curved. This aspect is diagnostic for identifying this particular Golden Banner.
