8.6 Vision Statement

PUMA desires to maintain the scenic integrity and natural beauty of the Planning Area.

8.6.1 Desired Future Conditions

The highest priority should be to protect the following locations from development and significant disturbances:

  1. The three, large meadow sites along Magnolia Drive including Stilson's Meadow, Scates Ranch, and Reynolds Ranch
  2. Key observation points in Figure 8.4
  3. The scenic corridor along the entire length of Magnolia Drive
  4. Natural Landmarks as designated in the Boulder County Comprehensive Plan
  5. rock outcrops, cliffs and steep slopes
Figure 8.9 Magnolia Road at the end of pavement. As a driver passes onto the dirt segment of Magnolia Road and enters Stison’s Meadow, there is a sense of entering a rutal area. The high peaks of the Continental Divide are in the far background.

Management activities on public lands, including forestry management and recreational facilities development, should be undertaken in a manner that is consistent with the visual management objectives of the public land management agencies, and ultimately these activities should protect and enhance the scenic resources of the Planning Area.
